Pros:
Good site especially for all Hirobo pilots. Most issues and technical knowledge are strictly for Hirobo RC flyers so that leaves us with informations solely for us to utilize and know. We can talk alot about our experiences and knowledge. One example is that my Hirobo Freya Evo 90 is my very first nitro and I don't have any experiences with it. I look upon this site for any informations and tips in building my heli. Bottomline is that this is a good resource for every Hirobo owners.
Cons:
This forum is always in-active. Not very many members are actively participating in discussions thus less cammeraderie among fellow Hirobo owners. I seldomly see members log in. Some sections are not utilize and taken advantaged by members.
The monthly contest was a good idea to attract more members and its both a good incentive for this site and its members, but lack of participation killed that project.
I'd like to suggest more marketing and advertising strategy to expand this forum and to spread the news about this site. Like add an advertising link with Helifreak and Runryder. I know there's alot of Hirobo flyers not only in the US, but throughout the world. Now if funds are the concern for advertising, then why not we make a donation to maintain it? If us Hirobo owners can afford a freaking $700 to $3000 RC helicopter and ridiculously priced spare parts for our Hirobo helis, then I guess there's no problem for us if we chip in a few $$$ just to maintain
OUR
site. We are not doing this for any other flyers. Remember that this is
OUR
site not no Align/Trex owners, not no JR Heli owners, not no Kyosho owners, and not no Thunder Tiger/Raptor owners.....This is
HIROBO WORLD
which means it's for us
HIROBO
owners.
Wow talk about patriotism! No offense intended to other RC Helicopter hobbyist.
Add sections like a
Local Hirobo Events
for us Hirobo owners to posts news events and/or gatherings in our own respective areas and maybe we can help spread the word more by word-of-mouth about this site. Example: I who live in California can organize and hold a Southern California Hirobo meet, greet, and fly events. We can have a funfly event and at the same time say something about this site. It's all about marketing and advertising this site in a more effective and efficient way. The more in-active Hirobo pilots catches wind about this site and it's daily activites, the more they'll get interested to it. It's like the saying goes
" whoever throws the best party gets the most crowd"
We need to attract members and look for others who's just hiding behind.
Another is cooperation and participation from already active HiroboWorld members. Everytime I visit my friend's hobby shop I always mention about Hirobo World and tell them about this site soley for Hirobo pilots. There are old and new Hirobo pilots that I always bump into from time to time and they have no idea about this site. Whenever I get the chance to see them I always tell them about this site. My effort will just be in vain if they don't see any members actively logged in and participating in a forum. If that's the case, then of course it's just human nature not to go and proceed to join because they will think that it'll just be a waste of their time. They'll think
"nobody is in the forums, so why should I be here? "
That's almost like inviting someone to go to a party, but then when they go there's no one there except themselves. Where's the joy and excitment in there??? We need to revive this site by cooperating and participating.
I always try to be logged in to this site so that others
(members and guest alike)
can see that there's always someone here.
Another suggestion is to add a
Welcome Section
. This will be a good area for new members to introduce themselves and let us know what type of Hirobo helicopter they fly and own. Then from there we can break the ice and have a fun and active discussion and may be share knowledge and experiences with them.
Once this forum is active and there are several that are logged in then you can revive the monthly contest to expand the site further.

Ditto...
However many "specialty" forums take time to gather members and content. Hopefully with some more time it will pick up a bit.

I think the problem with the comp was that you needed to have x number of posts to enter. Fair enough too, but how can you get posts when there are no discussions taking place and you aren't allowed to post utter rubbish?
I think the main problem is Hirobo machines are just too reliable, there are no problems to talk about!
The forum layout and topics are great. Looks really professional and should easily cover all bases, just needs to have more active users. I log on just about every day to check the latest posts. Usually the page is identical to the one the week before, other than when Dominique gets a place at a comp!
My thoughts anyway,
Troy

I don't think that's the case, because if you check Helifreak's and RunRyder's Hirobo forums there's always a topic and issues posted by other Hirobo pilots/owners. It's just that others would rather go to an active forum, than a forum that is
"dead"
in-active. We need ways to attract members/guests and keep em coming back for more. I sure don't want to lose this site nor have it closed.

Thanks for taking up the suggestion about putting in a Welcoming Center section to welcome new members. I'm hoping new members will utilize that section and so we can introduce ourselves to them and start a discussion.

I meant that as more of a joke, as I know there are questions thrown about on other forums. Should have put a
after it.

A agree with all that has commented that the forum hasn't yet picked up speed to be really useful. There have been informative and interesting thread, no doubt about that. But the other heli forums are still at a huge advantage with their higher age and membership counts.
I for one still waits impatiently for the write-up on the Turbulence D3 build at IRCHA08!

rnHeres the place to post about upcoming Jeep related events, like the Jeep Jamborees or Camp Jeep. Also, if there is a Meet and Greet or any other Jeep related event, this is the place to announce it and to discuss it.
rn
rn EDIT
rn
rnThis is not for trail rides... we should still use the "Trail Rides" forum to organize our trail rides. This forum is for events other than trail rides.rn
