Just flew the SDX today and I have one word to describe it... AWESOME.

I love Hirobo helis due to their quality. Before, all my "feel" of flying Hirobos are more of precision aerobatics / F3C. I had 3 Sceadu Evolution 50s and I modified many parts just to make it more 3D'able- hard aftermarket dampers, light weight RX/batts, light paddles, etc. They come out-of-the-box more intended for "broad" users both F3C and 3D alike.

The SDX is different, it maybe more suited for 3D flying as I experienced today but it can be set-up also for smooth, precision flying. I had two set-ups in my radio, one for F3C (all smooth, linear and conservative throws) and one for all-out +/-12deg 3D. It did well on both departments. I flew with mechanical set-up as per the manual with all paddle weights installed. The SDX flies like the Sceadu "on-rails". It tracks straight and well compared to other helis. It being "light" doesnt have the tendency to be "pitchy" in fast forward flight. I can compare it as the Turbulence D3 to the Freya Evolution, and the SDX to the Sceadu Evolution.

I flew the SDX side-by-side with my Sceadu Evo running on same OS50SX-H Hyper and 20% Cosmo fuel. Headspeed is about 1900rpm. Tic-tocs are really fast, crisp and effortless on the SDX compared to the Sceadu. Rolls and flips are faster, and are significantly straight (no twisting/interaction). Strong wind doesnt affect it much either compared to the Sceadu. It's really on the new head design from Hirobo.

I had a friend who took some more pictures and short video of simple 3D maneuvers I did with the SDX. Sorry I can't YET do full 3D with this thing since I mainly fly F3C (and we don't have SPARE PARTS for this heli yet). I'll try to post a link here as soon as he uploads it.

My SDX set-up:

- SDX SWM B/M kit Part# 0403-955
- OS50SX-H Hyper
- Futaba S-9255s for cyclics
- Futaba S-9250 for throttle
- Futaba GY611 with S-9256 for tail
- Futaba R6008HS 2.4GHz receiver
- Radix 610mm blades
- Cosmo 20% fuel
- Funtech/K&S 50 muffler
- Futaba 1500mAh NICD pack
- Futaba 14MZ radio
- Idle2 1950 rpm, +/-12deg, +14deg hold/auto
- throt-cyclic mix (no governor), 15%
- head settings stock as per manual
